I don't want to remove the felt, but I might have to, not sure yet. If I push on the black felt right side in the pic) there are many areas where it just collapses, no support. Here is a top down view of the area the OEM components were located. After getting the sheet cut properly, where can I screw into? I have a 1/4" sheet of ABS plastic that I plan on mounting my components to, so I need to cut the sheet to fit the area where the factory sub and amp were. Left me with a bunch of wires that I assume I will be connecting to my Nav-TV Zen-A2B device which them connects to the amp (no DSP here). I'm waiting for the components to arrive, while doing so I removed the factory Sub and Amp.

I do know that the stock setup was not at all satisfactory to me so this is my attempt at remedying the situation I've never worked on car audio, I know very little about the subject. do you happen to have a picture or a description of the cable so I can try and find one else where? is there anything else on your swap that didn't work due to putting a fancier radio into an xlt? did your truck have hands free for your phone as well?Īny info you can provide will be greatly appreciated.I plan on updating this thread with progress on replacing the stock system on my truck. your thread mentioned contacting 4D Tech about the cables but unfortunately, they do not carry them anymore. I want to put my backup camera on the stereo rather that the rearview mirror. I am trying to do the same thing to my 2012 f350 lariat. saw your thread about doing the upgrade to the navigation style radio. It does not disable the camera in the mirror (which can be handy when backing up). You can contact 4D Tech and get a cable to also display the camera in the radio. You will need the GPS/satellite antenna on the roof or one of the smaller magnetic antenna you can locate on the dash or exterior. If you can find one, you should be able to swap it out without much problems. I do not think it requires the VIN to be "flashed" into the radio. (I think I have read that, base, the pillar tweeters and doors are a single output wire.). My last choice may be: Stand alone, headless system with BT connection to phone, and using existing wires to door speakers. IT is self contained with the radio, nav, dvd, hard disk, etc inside the "brick". 2021+ Ford F150 - Base 2023 single cab audio upgrade - OK, got a build date, planning my audio upgrade. Much of what you are saying pertains to the 2013 and newer trucks. The cost back in 2012 was approx $2000 for the radio, cable and NAV update. The connectors to add the camera cable, should you purchase it, is located in the passenger kick panel area.

I dont have unlimited data and have spotty cell service here in GA. I have read a few threads with solutions being Bluetooth and smart phones. Awaiting my XLT which I realize doesnt have a Sirius capable radio. I added the cable mention above to display the camera in the radio. Currently have a Sirius subscription In my 2012 F150.

I made this same change you are wanted to do on a 2011 XLT that I ordered without NAV. You would probably want to purchase a NAV map update also as these radios used the DVD to update the maps. You can also go to 4D Tech and buy it as a package. There use to be many sellers on eBay selling this upgrade. You might be able to buy a radio off eBay. Will it work on the new unit? Will the steering wheel controls still work?If you can find one, you should be able to swap it out without much problems. Is it as simple as finding one in a junk yard and swapping them? It has a backup camera in the rearview mirror. I have a 2011 F250 and want to upgrade the radio to the OEM navigation unit.
